Anybody who has never struggled with the excessive sweating problem can not quite appreciate how serious a problem it can be. You have probably by now heard stories about people who fear and actually avoid greeting others with their hands because their hands are perpetually wet (as a result of excessive sweating), but have you heard of extreme situations where people actually have to wake up in the middle of the night to change their beddings, having completely drenched the first set of bedding that they started their sleep with in sweat? That is how bad the excessive sweating problem can be: not to mention the type of situation where a person who maintains reasonably high standards of hygiene ends up perpetually giving that bad odor associated with sweat, for the simple reason that they sweat too much during the day!

Thankfully, there are a number of solutions to the excessive sweating problem.

The first set of these are what might be referred to as ‘common sense’ solutions: things like wearing light clothing, avoiding the foods that make one sweat excessively, investing in good ventilation and air conditioning (wherever possible and so on). Measures like these, by the way, have been known to help with mild cases of hyperhidrosis (for that is what excessive sweating is known as clinically).

Beyond the common sense measures to combat excessive sweating, we have another set of measures, which might be seen as the ‘first line’ of defense against the excessive sweating problem within the body. Here, we are looking at things like the use of antiperspirants, which are known to stop excessive sweating, especially the milder cases of it, which external measures like the use light clothing, avoiding ‘sweat-inducing’ foods, proper ventilating and so on cannot address.

Further down the line, we have another set of measures one can take to find freedom from the excessive sweating problem: these basically being treatments: things like the use of the oral medication developed to deal with the problem, and perhaps even the use of botox injections in combating the problem. The best advice, if your excessive sweating problem has gotten bad enough for you to have to make use of these treatments, would be for you to first consult your doctor who can take through a course of treatment that is really likely to address your excessive sweating problem, without exposing you undue risks (seeing that the treatments we are looking at here are made from very potent pharmaceutical formulations that can have serious long term effects if carelessly used).

If the basic treatments like oral medications and Botox injections don’t work as well in combating the stop excessive sweating problem, and if your excessive sweating problem is really bad enough, you might be forced to go under the surgeon’s knife to cut the overactive sympathetic nerves responsible for excessive sweating, though this is a very risky move, if you are to make it: and for many rational people, just too high a price to pay for freedom from the problem of sweating too much.

Tip:

Wear a plain white 100% cotton t-shirt underneath your typical shirt(s).
